Boy Butter Lube Review

Creamy, Dreamy, Butter like Lube.

From the moment I opened my first sample sachet of Boy Butter lube I’ve been madly in love with it. When Vibrator.com asked me which adult products I would like to review from their vast sex toy inventory, my mind skipped over all of the toys, Vibrators and other products. Honing in on a 4oz tub of Boy Butter – such a cute but cheeky name, I just love it!!

Whilst Boy Butter have now got 5 different formulations this review is for their “Original’ formula which is an oil based lubricant. It is important to note that whilst this original formula is safe for use with silicone toys Boy Butter Original is not compatible with Latex Condoms

What Is Boy Butter?

A New Yorker looking for a lube that didn’t get sticky and soon need to be re-applied whilst also not clinging to the skin and leaving greasy residue behind on the user for days to come. When he couldn’t find such a product he created one!

It arrives in a traditional butter like tub that from a distance really does look like a miniature, 4oz tub of butter. Although it doesn’t need to be kept in the refrigerator, you can put it in there to add some kinky chills to playtime. I’ve found it incredibly refreshing to do so during out hot Australian summer. You just have to be sure to hide it right at the back of the fridge otherwise you may end up with it on your toast!

Its great for boys, girls, and toys as well and can be used in almost every way you would use regular lube – regular latex condoms being the exception as it may have a negative impact on the condom’s integrity.

Ingredients

As with all lubes the ingredients are just as important as it’s performance. The ingredients are labelled as;

Performance

This is where boy butter truly impresses me. It goes on like creamy body butter. Unlike your usual clear, runny and often sticky lubes this one is soft and creamy. It goes on and it stays on, letting you get lost in what you are doing. A good lube is one you don’t really notice during use. It goes on, it stays on and it does its job without causing irritation or having any negative impact upon your sexual experience.

Despite being an oil based lube it doesn’t stain, I even rubbed it on satin which loves to soak up oil and turn into a stain, but still No Stain! It also lasts an incredibly long time and rarely do you need to stop and grab more. Wether you’re playing it solo, with toys or with a partner it lasts for a really long time.

Whilst its longevity may make you wonder about it being hard to clean off you really don’t need to worry. Bot butter washes off with just water. No soap needed to get it off of your skin or toys. Just water. It really doesn’t get much easier than that. Well actually it kinda does.

If you are as lazy as me and really don’t want to get up and wash down afterwards it actually just soaks into your skin just like regular body butter. I’ve fallen asleep more than once after using it and haven’t noticed any kind of residue the next morning. That said, when its just me alone or with a toy I do need to rinse my hands off as they feel a little greasy, but I’ve got to say I much prefer greasy hands and moisturised pink bits as opposed to sticky ones Ive had after using other lubes.

This original formula is also scentless and tasteless. I’ve tried the water based one which I swear smelt like coconut butter, but the original has no smell. The sickly sweet, almost bitter taste of some lubes really puts me off wanting to use them. Lube should be felt but not tasted in my opinion, and Boy Butter original just doesn’t have a noticeable taste to me. It makes the skin feel creamy and kind of luscious but it does so without affecting the taste buds.

I absolutely love this product however I cant overlook the fact that this original formulation isn’t safe to be used with regular, latex condoms¹. I want to give it 5 stars, but I think this aspect is a rather large deterrent so am only giving it 4 out of 5 stars.

Soraya Queen of Luxury Vibrators

Say No to awful jelly rabbit vibrators - ughh! My first ever vibrator was a rabbit vibe, it came to me offering to satisfy my craving for being penetrated whilst simultaneously driving my clit wild until I reached Orgasm. Time and time and time again. I loved that Vibrator, but I loved it’s dolphin like clit tickler most. It had its own little motor embedded inside of the clear jelly (uggh!) skin and could be bent in any direction, allowing me to grind against it as hard as I pleased… up until the flimsy wire attached to it’s motor came loose and the clit tickler died. Most of them critical of the clit tickling arm saying that it applies too much pressure and doesn’t tend to fit all anatomies. The same issue many have reported with similar next generation dual stimulation vibrators like the Zini Roae and the Fun Factory Delight, they just don’t seem to fit women in the universal way that rabbit vibrators do.

With the introduction of the Soraya LELO have come through, successfully taking the dual stimulating vibrator into the 21st century. Taking the shape of the Ina and the flexibility of a traditional rabbit’s tickler combining them with the signature look of their Insignia range to create the first truly monumental sex toy. In my opinion the Soraya is the first successful 2nd Generation rabbit, ensuring LELO a place in the history of sex toy design alongside other products like the Hitachi wand, the We Vibe and of course the infamous Rabbit vibrator. This toy arrives fully charged and ready to use. Many people have said that they were surprised that the metallic center section of all toys in the Insignia line is metallic plastic rather than actual metal. I knew to expect this and initially thought that it felt far too light when I picked it up, however after using it though I think the extra weight would’ve negatively impacted the experience.

The Soraya as well as the other two toys in LELO’s Insignia range – the Isla G-Spot vibrator and the Alia clitoral vibrator are made of this metallic plastic which forms a circular hole through the toys that makes for a very ergonomic handle. The core of the toy is then covered in a silicone skin leaving the plastic visible on the sides. These sides are flattened, leaving it with a slightly odd silhouette, rather than the rounded shaft one might expect (you can see it in the front view in the image above). During use it isn’t really noticeable, well not as far as your vagina is concerned, your hands may however disagree.

The transition between the Plastic and silicone is the one facet of this toy that I dislike.The hole at the bottom of the toy is perfect for putting your thumb through to grasp the toy and get some amazing thrusting going. With the super soft silicone tip on the clitoral part of the toy it means you can get pretty rough with the thrusting without causing pain or injury to your clit. Over time though the seam starts to rub against your hand and fingers. For such an ergonomic toy that it is so easy to hold it in your hand whilst positioning the control buttons where your fingers intuitively reach to find them this rough area is a pretty big downfall. I love this toy and want to use it every day AND every night, but I really don’t want to get blisters!

[EDIT] 28th Jan - After using this vibrator at least once or twice every single day over the last week or so I’m happy to report that my initial fear of getting a blister is unfounded. I am blister free even though I’m using it multiple times a day – I LOVE this toy!!

Also in the crevice between the two materials fluids and such can gather making it a bit fussier to clean (although it isn’t that hard), and near impossible to ensure it’s sterile. You can clean it in a basin of warm water and soap – remember it is fully waterproof, and just use a toothbrush along this seam or perhaps use a toothpick or something similar covered with a make up pad or baby wipe to prevent the toy from being damaged. The only way to sterilise it is to use a bleach solution wiping it over the surfaces or you could soak it in a sterilising solution similar to that used to sterilise babies bottles – I just can’t tell you whether or not it may cause damage to the toy’s surface over time. Under no circumstance should it go in the dishwasher or be boiled – you will kill it if you do that!!

The clitoral arm is the real source of awesomeness in the Soraya. It is soft, super flexible and damn strong. Having a separate motor within the tip means that you can get some really amazingly strong vibrations and pulses directed straight to your clitoris – the all important factor those yucky old jelly-like rabbits had. As you are able to adjust the intensity of each of the vibrating, pulsating, G-Spot thumping sensations it’s a toy that should suit the buzz queens as well as those with more delicate clits. The way your hand is positioned during use you can also use your finger to push this arm harder against your clit or pull it completely away and out of the action.

I have been finding that If I let myself squirt as soon as I feel the desire too I end up hitting an orgasmic plateau and can’t manage to cum no matter how hard I try. When I’ve used the Soraya I try to push the clitoral arm back so that it isn’t directly stimulating me whilst I still go at my G-Spot, then as I start to feel the need to squirt I push it against me, bringing the clitoral orgasm to its peak before letting the floodgates open – so to speak. Best most intense toy induced orgasm ever!

Charging is super easy. The jack inserts into a tiny hole at the very base of the toy, the port is vacuum sealed so that no water can enter it. Whilst charging the backlit control panel will flash red until charging is complete and with a full battery – which has never taken more than an hour for me) lasts for many many more hours. As an interesting aside – for anyone that owns other rechargeable LELO toys you can use any of their chargers with any of their toys. How cool is that, especially for someone who is as scatter brained as I am!

My Soraya has come from America so it has an American charger that just won’t fit into our Australian sockets. Thankfully all of the rechargeable sex toys I own have chargers that are compatible with our 240V supply (Most work between 110V & 240V) so no voltage converter is necessary. I only needed to buy an adapter that I can plug the two straight parallel prongs into it and then plug the adapter into our sockets that have the two diagonally aligned holes. It only cost me $12 from Dick Smith’s.

Aussie’s Please Note that If you purchase the Soraya from an Australian sex toy store like Femplay it will come with an Australian charger so that you don’t need to worry about adapters and extra expenses.

Conclusion:

I don’t like the seam between the silicone and plastic, but it really is a minor complaint. I’d also love if you could control the two motors separately, but that would mean you would need extra buttons and a more complex programming that would probably do my head in. A small part of me also wishes it came in that stunning shade of turquoise that it’s sister vibrator Isla comes in. But no matter these small gripes after having such a truly amazing experience with the Soraya I can’t see any reason to give it less than 5 full stars and well worth its price, certainly not a purchase I’d ever regret and it’s now my number 1 toy, pushing the we vibe 2 back to #2.

Quick Update

Just wanted to let people know my friend has been found & will hopefully be able to get back to the rest of civilisation by the weekend.

I have to say that X was amazing. Taking me and his wife up to the area, through an area that wasn’t passable in a car and helping us to track them down over the UHF. He’s been a real star lately!!

The guys went camping up in the mountains out west – right in some of the worst hit areas (shaking my head at him as it was such a dumb thing to do.which is what he always does) Although they were near the river their campsite was up high enough for them not to get washed away.

The dirt goat track that got them to where they are didn’t fare so well and apparently looks more like the grand canyon than a road. So they’ve been stuck up there for the past week or so, but now that their location is known the SES are going to go in and get them out before they start having to sacrifice each other and turn into cannibals (my mates words not mine).

As for the clean u flood clean up p, it’s heartbreaking. I wish I’d brought my camera so I could show you just how devastation the damage is (these photos here are from google).

The water level has dropped and revealed pretty horrific damage. I’m not sure if anything in their house is salvageable after sitting in water that was up to the gutters for cleaning up after the flood image however many days last week.

The one truly amazing thing is how friendly, helpful and caring all of the people are being. It’s a true display of Aussie mateship and makes me proud of being Australian.

Time to finish up my lunch and get back to shovelling mud and sorting through mouldy things. Not sure when I’ll be back home, but a few posts should auto publish in the meantime.

There’s Water Everywhere

The Massive Floods In Australia

If you aren’t from Australia you may not be aware of the massive damage caused by huge flooding throughout Queensland and Northern New South Wales (where I live) with the city of Brisbane possibly being one of the hardest hit areas. Thousands of people have been evacuated, thousands of houses and businesses have also been destroyed by the massive flood waters. The floods are that bad that the term ‘inland tsunami’ is a phrase I’m hearing multiple times a day.

A lot of people, many children are dead – kids torn from their parents or rescuers arms by the strength of the water. Even more people are still missing. Sadly one of my closest friends is one of them.

It’s enough of a natural disaster for google to stand up and take note by creating a crisis response page for the Australian floods

Thankfully the water levels are starting to lower, closed roads are opening (Many people have been stranded and a lot of towns have been without food or fuel deliveries for quite a while as all of the truck routes into the city and other affected areas were closed) and the clean up has begun in earnest. The peak of the disaster has passed but many months of clean up lay ahead.

My missing friend, a guy I love with all my heart and have referred to as ‘the rockstar’ – the first true love of my life – his house backed onto the Brisbane river. I use the past tense as there isn’t all that much left of it from what I have heard. His wife is distraught as he hasn’t been heard from in over a week. He left to go camping with ‘the boys’ further up north over a week ago. It was expected that he wouldn’t be in contact last week as where he was headed mobile phone coverage sucks. However he was due home yesterday, neither he or any of the mates he was with have been heard from since they left. His wife is stuck with no home to live in, no job to go to and has a deep seeded fear that he won’t be coming home.

The area they were going to has been affected by the torrential rain but it up in the higher country so there are hopes that they are safe, but simply stranded. None the less He needs to be found – Hopefully safe and in one piece.

yes Im scared of snakes Whilst I’m very committed to my blog, my reviews and other online activities I am going to have to pause all of these activities whilst I go and try to help find my friend as well as help many others with the clean up. I have tried to contact all of the companies I am working with on reviews – but as my mind is on other things I am sure to have missed one or two, I have no choice but to put these reviews on hold until I get these rather more pressing things taken care of.

X has just made it back from Brisbane even though the Highway remains closed and many of the other roads are covered in water I will be headed up to QLD with him tonight. Thankfully other than one major detour around Grafton it is quite safe for trucks to be travelling through and know that I’ll get there safely. It’s what I find when I get there that scares me.

I will keep my friends and family up to date via twitter and will hopefully be able to report some good news soon. I have long wanted the Dahlia Breeze, so much so that when the sex toy store Fascinations approached me to write some reviews of sex toys it was easy to choose the toy I wanted most. After falling so madly in love with my 6”bullet breeze from BMS enterprises I’ve been dying to get my hands on a few of their other products. I just knew that their slightly odd shaped sex toy designed to take the simple joys of a bullet used for clitoral stimulation and make it so that it can be used to stimulate the G-Spot would be something I would enjoy – and I wasn’t wrong!!

The Dahlia Breeze Power Bullet G really delivers what you would expect from just reading its name. It takes all of the things I love about my over-sized, super-powered 6″ bullet and converts these things into an odd looking package that serves to deliver the vibrations I love directly to my G-Spot.

Ok, so it looks like a regular bullet with some strange growth on its side or Elephantiasis, but looks aren’t everything when it comes to sex toys. The strange bulges and bump do have purposes. The first, smaller bump is there to provide clitoral stimulus, whilst the bulgier, more bulbous head is shaped to put pressure on the G-Spot and to excite it further with vibrational delights. (I’m overly cheeky and flowery with my words today )

In my case there’s no way a bump as small as this and positioned as it is will reach my clit at the same time the rest of the toy is having a party with my G-Spot. But seriously, it didn’t bother me that my clit missed out as it added vibrations to the entrance of my vagina, an area all too often over looked by sex toy designers.

The large bulbous head of the dahlia vibrator The somewhat odd, heavily protruding head and slight curve of the shaft helps to get the toy in the right position to align with your G-Spot. Inside this bulbous head houses two separate motors that work in unison to create vibrations that could wake up even the most stubborn of G-Spots. The head also makes for an awesome, super sized surface to use against the clit, similar to other regular style bullet vibes – just super-sized and super powered.

The three levels of vibration are low, medium and a pretty decent high intensity – not super high like Hitachi, but quite a bit stronger than any other bullet like toy. They are also a lower frequency, more thumpy and rumbly style vibration, not the high pitched buzzy, numbing vibrations you might expect from a bullet like vibrator. The vibrations are more focused into the large head of the toy, but they still manage to travel well through the entire toy without making it feel like your fingers will buzz off during use.

I’m really impressed by the performance of this little sex toy, but when I first tried to fire it up I experienced some severe sex toy #FAIL – or rather this sex toy experienced some severe User #FAIL.

I got it out of its clear plastic packaging, grabbed 2 AAA’s and unscrewed the base cap to insert the batteries and get to playing – As I said I’ve been wanting to get my hands on this toy for quite a while now. With the cap off I inserted the first battery, but it felt pretty tight getting it in there. When it came to the second battery I simply couldn’t get it in there. Hmm I knew there was something wrong but WTF was up?? I look inside the tubular insides and notice a small bit of paper just peeking out from behind the now stuck battery Ok, I’m an idiot I’ve gone and shoved this battery in the hole without looking and obviously there was a bit of paper in there I’m meant to remove first. Ughh!

Getting that battery out was near impossible, it just didn’t make sense that just a piece of paper could cause it to be so jam packed in there. I try grabbing the battery with pliers and tweezers but there wasn’t enough room in there to use something to pry it out. It was a pretty dire situation, poor Dahlia looks like she’s dead before I even get to start her up.

It turns out that it wasn’t just a piece of paper in there, rather a clear plastic tubular cradle for the two batteries – and the piece of paper. I had to take a small saw to the end of the dahlia, cutting 4 slits into the thread area so that I could get the tweezers in there to grasp that battery and get it out. But guess what – despite my completely dodgy handy work this toy still works like an absolute dream!

The moral of this story is – look in the hole before you mindlessly shove batteries into a hole!! and again it’s not the toy’s fault this occurred, I’m 100% to blame and am overjoyed that she is robust enough to have survived her little sex toy surgery!

Despite My #FAIL with inserting the batteries my experience with this sex toy is all positive. Although it has a rather odd shape there is no denying that its an awesome powerhouse of fun. A toy I’d recommend to everyone, sex toy beginners and aficionados alike due to its dynamic nature, body friendly, sterilisable material and its high quality strong vibrations. It is also waterproof and easy to use with a simple push button that cycles through the toys the vibration levels. I have to say it is pretty darn strong for a toy powered by just 2 AAA’s, but trust me it delivers quite the punch!

I strongly feel that the Dahlia Breeze Power Bullet G is well worthy of 4 out of 5 stars. Body safe, inexpensive and most importantly it works just as it should.
