L’Amour Seduction Vibrator – Sex Toy Review

Sadly though the lack of animal reference isn’t enough to salvage this toy and land it in any decent position within my toy box.

Review

I’ve reviewed quite a few rabbit vibrators now and tried even more – more than I can recall to be honest and this is going to be one of the ones I don’t remember. It has a few features I like, but then the same features have some negative drawbacks which leaves it in a bit of a no mans land for me. Sure I can see that it might be a great vibrator for some, but not me.

The things I do like about it include how easy it is to use. It features a 2 button only interface that’s intuitive to use. One button switches the toy on and off – great for those who live in places that aren’t masturbation friendly zones, who may need an instant off switch if invaded by kids or room mates. The second button cycles through the 7 different vibration settings. The first 3 are low, medium and high constant vibrations, which are followed by 4 patterns.

Now as I said some of the things I love also have negative drawbacks – the easy 2 button interface doesn’t allow me to take any control over the dual motors that are placed at the base of the clitoral arm and at the tip of the shaft. If I’ve got two power sources I want to be able to manipulate and enjoy them both, and not just in a synchronised buzz.

It is rather quiet, one of the selling points of the toy – but sadly what you give up in noise you also loose in power. I found that even on the high settings I couldn’t feel the internal vibrations and the ones on my clit were quite buzzy and difused at the surface rather than travelling deep into the pleasurable points under the skin.

It’s a good length, no uterus stabbing action going on and it is incredibly flexible. The issue is the wrong part of the toy is doing the flexing. The shaft can be easily bent back 180 degrees, whereas the clitoral arm, the piece that needs to be flexible to create a range of intensities to suit the user as well as to adjust to their anatomy is almost rock hard. With even just some mild thrusting it felt like I was trying to sandpaper my clit with a screwdriver. An issue that no amount of lube seemed to abate.
To top it all off it comes in that dreadfully crappy, signature cal exotics packaging. The clear plastic container that never stays closed and gets crushed ridiculously easyily during transport.

So this isn’t a vibe I’m going to tell friends about or really reccommend full stop. It’s just so – blah. Or what my kid calls ‘Meh’. It’s a bit of a nothing that will fall to the bottom of a toy box and get forgotten about, or put in the pile for donation to the vibratorless out there. I want to give it just a single star, but the fact that its sterilisable and could possibly go on to find a home that may appreciate it I’ll crumble and stretch it to two stars. A just barely 2 stars though.

As part of the California Exotics Sexpert program each month I get sent a different toy to play with, test out and review. This month I received a rabbit vibe with a little bit of a twist called the ‘Wild Orgasm – Pierced Lover‘. A rather traditional style rabbit vibe in the sense that it has a little dolphin like clit tickler and a shaft filled with rotating beads. The twist that adds a little something extra than your traditional rabbit is that the clit tickling dolphin has had its nose pierced – hence the name.

 The Review

I have to say that rabbit vibrators are probably my favourite type of sex toys. They provide the penetrative sensations that I crave when I’m horny whilst stimulating two places at one. That said though I wasn’t too keen on this particular one, but I think it comes down to the TPR sleeve that is a bad fit for the internal shaft and can be stretched a ridiculous amount. Both of which just reminded me of nasty jelly toys which did ruin my enjoyment of it. That said there are some major positives to this toy.

The stainless steel barbell that has been poked straight through the dolphin like clit stimulator is a very nice feature as the steel transmits the vibrations extremely well. I could also really feel the other steel feature – the pleasure ball, aka ‘;cyclops eye’. As the shaft with its 3 levels of beads rotates and gyrates the metal ball gets strongly massaged against the g-spot which I found to be far out amazing, especially when combined with the gyrating tip of the shaft. I even discovered that I could use this toy almost hands free. Insert, switch on, close legs, lay back and ust enjoy. It was a great experience, but I did need to get a bit more active in order to orgasm.

Whilst it is quite the powerhouse it is both noisy and a battery guzzler.  The motor in the shaft is quite strong and performs well, the motor in the clitoral arm not so great which was a huge letdown. I love clit stimulators and liked the pierced aspect of this one,  but the lack of energy emitted from its seperate motor left me wanting for more. A lot more.

As it does have dual motors that can be operated independently it allows the user to create their perfect combination of vibrations suited to their personal preferences. It also features 3 different vibration patterns that involve both motors. All of these settings add up to’ over 200 intense patterns‘  according to the toys packaging. The LED bcklit control panel is easy to use and quickly becomes intuitive with an independent on/off switch, a + & – for each of the motors and a 6th button in the middle which cycles through the different vibration patterns on offer.

As the toy is fully waterprood with an O ring to prevent water getting into the battery pacl and mechanical housing it makes washing this toy super easy. Best way to clean TPR is with warm water and disinfecting soap. As TPR is slightly pourous it cannot be sterilised so sharing and anal play is not on unless you use a condom to cover the toy first.

The wild orgasm has features I like and elements I dislike. I imagine it would be a perfectly fine vibrator for anyone looking for a good rabbit, but as I have numerous other options such as the LELO Soraya and my Vanity VR5 from Jopen it is unlikely that I will be using this one regularly. It isn’t dreadful, but it just doesn’t fully float my boat which earns it 3 out of 5 stars from me.

Sex Toy Review : Vanity VR5 by Jopen

California Exotics moved into the premium sex toy market earlier this year with their new range of Vanity by Jopen products. And from the look of the Jopen website the VR line is just the start with the possible new brand names of  ‘Simply Jopen‘ and ‘Euphoria‘ appearing in the menu beside the Vanity link. If the strength of the VR5 is anything to go by I’m excited to see what else they come up with for their new ‘Luxury’ brand.

Whilst other reviewers who have participated in the Cal Exotics Sexpert Program have only ever received products from the lower end of their ridiculously huge range of products I have to say that I’ve been very lucky in the random products that have been assigned to me. My Couture Collection Bliss egg is still, by far THE best egg style vibrator/ remote controlled vibrator I’ve come across! This month my good luck has continued as I received the Vanity VR5 from their new premium Jopen brand. Whilst the VR5 isn’t going to push my beloved Soraya out of her #1 spot, the VR5 is a nicely powerful dual stimulation vibrator.

Use

Like many of the other adult toys in the Jopen Vanity line the VR5 is a rabbit style vibrator… or rather a dual stimulation vibrator, as it (Thank God!!) doesn’t have any features that are in anyway similar to any animal or insect. It has an almost indefinable, somewhat blob like shape. Maybe you could compare it to an amoeba but I don’t mind toys that look like one celled organisms, it’s sex toys fashioned after actual animals I tend to dislike.¹

With the whole new ‘Jopen’ brand Cal Exotics have done quite a number of things to raise the quality level above all other products they produce. They are all 100% Body Safe, Phthalate free silicone, with Eco Friendly rechargeable batteries and arrive with somewhat discreet packaging (at least in comparison to some other CalEx products) … but the seams and logos imprinted in the silicone are far from the high end finish you would expect from a top shelf product and its matching price tag.

Now the seams themselves aren’t too much of an issue,but they do point to what in my mind is a lack of attention to the details during the R&D process of these toys. I also find it kinda inexplicable as to why they needed to include raised logos on the actual body of the toy. I don’t need my high end vibrator to tell me on its body that it uses 5Volts of DC, Nor does it need to tell me not to dispose of it in the regular garbage or advertise that its a ‘Power Bullet™’ product – that’s what the instruction booklet that comes with upper class sex toys is for. I’m just guessing the heavily raised circle on the back of the shaft is so that blind people can tell where you plug the toy in as it really isn’t required. As I said though the seams etc aren’t all that big of a deal, I just kind of expected a little more from a toy within this premium category.

The thing they did get right though was the power!! With two separately controlled motors and a rechargeable battery it’s a bit of a power horse. The motor embedded within the G-Spot targeting shaft has a great rumbley, grumbley, deep throbbing characteristic to its vibrations and is quite remarkably quiet. The clitoral arm’s motor is quite a bit buzzier. I’m thinking this may very well be down to the small size of it. It puts out a little more of a high pitched vibration and sound, but it has managed to deliver more than one seriously intense orgasm.

It’s velvet-esque, matte finish means that the silicone creates even more drag than one would usually expect – so lube is an absolute MUST with this toy. I seriously recommend Astroglide’s Glycerine & Paraben free lube, its by FAR the best lube I’ve come across. It won’t damage your toys, nor will it cause you any of the nasty side effects such as thrush/yeast infections or other possible allergic reactions. When I’m using the VR5 I start to use it in a somewhat circular pattern. With my fingers on its base I roll it around in a circle kin of, a bit like I’m stirring a cake inside me² which drives both my clit & G-Spot crazy. However as the surface causes so much drag I started to give myself a carpet burn style injury – thus lube is an absolute must.

The curve of the shaft and its bulging shape add to the pleasure but for me its the clitoral arm with its extra flexibility and devoted motor that make it rock my world. I’ve found that if my clit isn’t in the mood for the buzzy style vibes its getting from the extra arm it is just as easy & as pleasurable to use the much deeper resonating vibrations found at the tip of the shaft against it.

Now to the buttons. As I mentioned there are 2 – one for each motor. Pressing a button turns its corresponding motor on, holding it down allows its vibrations to rise in intensity – there aren’t any distinct levels, rather a smooth increase in strength. Press the button again and it has that great instant off switch that parents and people living in shared accommodation love. Only issue is that the handle portion of the toy is incredibly small- only an inch or so long, so right as you are just getting into your groove you accidentally bump one of the two buttons and that motor switches off. It has such a feather light trigger that it is almost impossible not to inadvertently switch it off right when you want to turn it up!! It is such an obvious issue that it’s just insane that it wasn’t rectified back in the R&D process, long before it was sent into production. Either make it so that you can’t accidentally turn it off with a single touch or make the handle portion longer so that they aren’t constantly being hit during even basic use!

The VR5 has given me some great orgasms but it has also ruined some potentially mind blowing ones!! I love its shape as well as the strong rumbley vibrations within the G-Spot targeting shaft, I love that it’s rechargeable and I completely adore the T-Shirt, Jersey fabric storage bag – but those two buttons are like the ‘Buttons ‘O DOOM’ killing prospective orgasms before they get a chance to live. If it weren’t for them I’d easily rate it a 4 or 4.5, but Buttons ‘O DOOM earn the VR5 only a three star rating from me

Despite the doom factor and earlier mentioned dislike for sex toys resembling multi celled creatures I am finding myself with a serious lust for the VR10 – its clitoral stimulator looks like a cross between a bunny rabbit or a butterfly sans wings. If you were to combine the strong, deep throbbing vibrations with the rotating shaft it would just send me to heaven… well as long as the VR10′s handle is long enough that you don’t hit the god damn buttons!!

L’Amour Passion G vibrator Review

Pure Silicone G-Spot Vibrator from Cal Exotics

The latest sex toy to arrive on my door step courtesy of the Cal Exotics Sexpert program is the L’Amour Passion “g” vibrator.
I must admit that it isn’t a toy I probably wouldn’t have chosen , My G-Spot prefers really pronounced curves made from far more rigid materials. But it is a damn good vibrator that I am yet to find true fault in.

Review:

It seems that California Exotics are starting to produce some rather high quality sex toys – that is if this vibrator is anything to go by. It’s made from very soft, very pliable silicone that doesn’t have any kind of funky aroma… unlike some other products of theirs that I’ve seen or rather smelled!

Whilst I am impressed with the quality of the materials as well as the toy’s functions and what seems to be pretty decent manufacturing I honestly doubt that Cal Exotics will shrug off that ‘cheapish’ feel unless they do away with their el-cheapo, super crap packaging.  Like many of their products this vibrator arrives in the almost trademark hard plastic box, the one that doesn’t hold up for very long and can’t be recycled. I honestly doubt that I would want to buy this if I saw it on a shelf in a store as the standard packaging really doesn’t do the quality of this sex toy justice.

Enough about the crappy plastic box, if it came in a really nice, luxury box it would probably cost twice as much as it is actually quite a nice little vibrator.

It has a slightly angled head intended to stimulate the G-Spot, but nowhere near as pronounced as it would need to be to get mine to wake up and take notice. It has a slightly unique internal design as the base of the toy is solid, just as one would expect as there are mechanics housed beneath the silicone, but the middle area of the shaft is soft and flexible. It feels as though this vibrator has two separate motors, one in the base and another up in the tip of the toy. This helps to really deliver the vibrations to their target.

As I mentioned above there are three constantly on vibration patterns there are a medium low, medium and medium high which are then followed by 4 more patterns of escalation and pulsation.The control panel consists of just two buttons that are slightly raised in the white plastic base. One to switch the toy on and off, the second to start the vibrations and then cycle through the seven different settings. The on/off switch can also be used at any time to quickly switch the toy off – there’s no 2 second delay with this one, which is a feature I appreciate.

It claims to be whisper quiet, but whilst it isn’t a jack-hammer it also isn’t all that quiet. It can be heard from across the room, but if you had another source of noise such as the tv on in the background no one outside of the room will be able to hear it. And again if you were to get ‘caught’ it does have that one click, easy off switch which is a big selling point for those of us with kids or flatmates.

I’m never going to be a huge fan of silicone, it picks up every stray dog hair and piece of dirt and requires far too much lube (Often it requires extra applications of lube depending on how long you play for), however the quality of this silicone is pretty high. It has some slightly raised vertical lines in the silicone, however they aren’t significant enough to really be felt during use. The very soft, extra flexible nature of this vibrators shaft I think this would make a pretty awesome first vibrator for someone simply due to the fact that you can hammer away at it, thrusting like there’s no tomorrow and it won’t go poking into your cervix and causing any unwanted damage. A bruised cervix seriously hurts!

All in all, with price and product quality taken into consideration I’m pretty damn impressed by this vibrator. I can’t give it five full stars as that’s a rating saved for the cream of the crop, but it is well and truly worthy of a good strong four. If it came with better packaging and more of a G-Spotting curve I would be a much happier masturbator.

The Power Pleasure Harness with Turbo Dong

This month I was slightly confused as to what to do when I received my latest product from Cal Exotics as I’ve really got no use for a harness. I’ve got no girlfriends to play with any more and ‘HELLO’ plus sized! No way would any harness fit my fat ass! X had mentioned wishing he could use a strap on to double penetrate me as well as possibly being interested in pegging – but not sure if that’s going to happen. Whilst I’m all up for DP, pegging kinda scares me. In the sense that I don’t want to hurt someone. Maybe it wouldn’t be an issue, but for pegging N00B such as myself it is a concern. Not being able to feel what I am doing to them as well as their body’s reaction concerns me greatly. But after discussing the matter with @Mistress_kay sex toy reviewer extraordinaire I have come to realise that although I may not wish to penetrate somebody with this toy I sure as heck can still tell you all about it. So here goes for my first harness Review!

Harness Measurements: Although the Packaging says that it fits up to a 40″(120cm) waist the actual maximum waist measurement is 64″ (163cm), with a maximum thigh strap measurement of 30″(76cm). I am easily a size 24/26 & this harness easily fits my Plus Size Shape which certainly impresses me. I had always thought my size would exclude me from being able to ever use a harness, it’s nice to discover I was wrong. For those of you on the opposite end of the size spectrum you can rest assured that all of the straps can be tightened to fit even the smallest of frames. This will obviously cause there to be long, excessive strands of the Nylon webbing to be dangling about, possibly getting in your way. However you could always trim them shorter, it just depends on whether or not you will be sharing the toy with a partner who needs the longer straps to fit their size.

Harness Compatibility: It is designed to be used with the supplied Vibrating Dildo with its base and press studs which attach it to the harness. BUT I am a total NOOB when it comes to harnesses and there may be other dildos with compatible bases that can snap onto this harness. The Ring shaped area of the harness is 2.25″ wide, but without a metal O ring to hold it in place I doubt it could be used successfully with other dildos.

Basic Run Down

The Power Pleasure Harness with Turbo Dong is, in the simplest of terms an adjustable nylon harness with a snap on, vibrating Dong.

The Harness

The Harness is made from 1″ wide Nylon webbing and consists of a waist strap, 2 thigh straps and a front plush, fleece like fabric panel which has 4 silver snaps and a 2.25″ wide hole where the ‘Turbo Dong’ attaches.

Each of the three Nylon straps are easily adjusted with the plastic slide style clips to fit a wide range of body sizes. The ends of each of the straps have a very rough finish where the Nylon has been melted to prevent fraying. These ends have an itchy, scratchy feel and can easily irritate the skin.

The front panel is the complete opposite. Made from a double layer of fleece fabric it is very soft against the skin and has a padded feel to it. Its edges are bound with a soft bias binding and all of the edges have a row of re-enforcing stitching, as does the circular hole in its center. The four silver snaps which are used for attaching the Dong penetrate through all of the layers of fabric.

All of the stitching that holds this harness together is very sturdy and overall it is well made with a high level of craftsmanship. There is no way this harness is going to come un-done in a hurry.

As for the way it sits, it put a lot of strain on my hips, digging into my flesh whenever there was any resistance against the dong. The Base plate and dong sat at a very natural level and it would be easy to simulate PIV sex, or partake in pegging using this set. However it is the thin nylon straps that dig into your fleshier regions which make it difficult to use for extended periods of time.

The ‘Turbo Dong’

The penetrative portion of this toy composes of two pieces; 1)a Flat based plate which attaches to the harness and features the on/off button for the vibrating options as well as the ‘dock’ that the dong screws into. And 2) The vibrating ‘Turbo Dong’.

The base plate has a thin layer of soft padding underneath it, covering the surface that rubs against your skin. This covering stops the base from rubbing to hard against your pubic bone during use, whilst its size evenly disperses any strains experienced during use well across its surface. This helps to prevent the corners from digging into you whilst you are using the toy with a partner.

The Dong itself isn’t something I’m overly impressed by. For one it is made from PVC, whilst the packaging says it is Phthalate free PVC it doesn’t do much to make me feel comfortable using a PVC toy internally. Its porous nature also tends to bother me – even with the most stringent hygienic care bacteria and bugs can still take up residence. It also prevents it from being a toy that can be used for sharing between partners and if you wish to use it for both anal and vaginal penetration condoms are always a must.

It is a slightly odd shape, the shaft is slightly cone shaped, the wider base tapers in evenly just like an upside down ice cream cone, but around an inch or so from the tip it balloons out into a spherical shaped head that does nothing for me visually or sexually. I often enjoy toys with pronounced heads, but the shape of this one both looks and feels a little odd.

The Turbo Dong also operates as a 3 speed vibrator. 3 AAA sized batteries are slid into the body of the dong before it is screwed back onto the base plate. It was here that I experienced a little trouble. It had to be screwed to just the right point in order for the contacts to meet. Tighten it too far and it wouldn’t vibrate, leave it too loose and again you have the same issue. There is a single control button located on the base plate. Pressing this button will cycle through the 3 different vibration strengths before switching it back off again. The vibrations were no where close to as strong as I would expect as they are easily absorbed by the dense shaft rather than travelling through it. I would compare its over all strength to a small bullet, even though I do have bullets that are far stronger than the Turbo Dong. The sound levels however are acceptable, it can be heard over a tv but you cannot hear it through a bedroom door.

Care and Cleaning

Both the Harness and the Dong((I hate this word but it is what they call it)) are both fully waterproof, that is as long as the dong is fully attached and locked in it can safely be used in water. Be it the shower, the bath, or the ocean it can be used wherever you want. Although PVC doesn’t come to mind when I think of body safe materials in this case it is Phthalate free, But it is porous! This basically means that unless you cover it in a condom the dong is not a toy for sharing. Also whilst it is shaped in a way that is safe for anal it can not be sterilised afterwards. So if you wish to a) share the dong, or b)use it for anal penetration It MUST be covered in a condom – and if you wish to do both anal and vaginal penetration use separate condoms for each and NEVER go from ass to pussy.

Both components can be washed in warm water and disinfecting soap, just ensure that the dong and its base are attached securely to prevent water from damaging the electrical components. Also on the care side of things the packaging recommends that you only use water based lubes with the dong so as to not damage the integrity of the surface.

Conclusion

Whilst this is a toy that I personally have little use for I think it could make for a great introduction to harnesses and strap on style sex. There are certainly much better quality harnesses available as well as ones that are compatible with almost any dildo, but for its low price and its purpose I think It’s pretty darn good. It certainly looses points for not being made out of a more body friendly material (the dong), yet gains some for its ability to fit almost everyone of any size.  As their are two separate components I’ve decided to rate them individually as well as rating them as an all in one product.

Basic Harness 4/5 – mainly due to its price & plus sized abilities (& Im sure my harness naivety).

The Dong gets just 2/5 , bad material, odd shape, it could be far far better even though it is Phthalate free. Also the strength of the vibrations left much to be desired.

So I guess together I’m going to give them an overall rating of just 2 & a half stars.

I’m a Sexpert

I’m now Officially a California Exotics Sexpert!

So what is a Sexpert?

According to UrbanDictionary.com a Sexpert is;

Someone who is an expert at sex and sexual topics.

or

One who specialises in the art of sex

But really becoming a California Exotics Sexpert is pretty darn cool. It means that now I’ll be sent a new California Exotics (or Cal Exotics – so much faster to type!) product to review for my wonderful readers each month. Woo Hoo!

Becoming a Cal Exotics Sexpert™

I had seen the above Sexpert image on other sex toy reviewer’s blogs and being the curious being that I am I of course had to  click on it to discover just what this Sexpert business was all about.

It turns out that they have been looking for 100 special people such as myself (read: people who blog about sex) to write reviews on their products. 100 people to whom they shall send a new product to each month (it could even be an unreleased product that you get to test drive before it hits the marketplace) in order to have these items reviewed. And these 100 marvellous people shall become known as Cal Exotics Sexperts™ and get to display the above image on their blog or website to prove to the world that they are in fact experts in the field of all things sexual!

So of course I wanted to be one, wouldn’t you? I then clicked on the link to fill out their online application form and sent it off to them.

It took a few weeks (or at least that’s about how long it felt like) and I had almost forgotten I had applied to become one when I got an email telling me I was now a Sexpert, followed by one telling me my first product was on its way to me for review. YAY!

My First Product

This morning my first product arrived. I was Hellishly excited about a new sex toy, even before I opened the package, and was almost blown away once I did open it up and discover my first assignment.

The ‘Couture Collection Bliss remote control Egg‘ – check out the picture below, it’s pretty damn cool. A rechargeable vibrating egg, wow! And from what I can tell it hasn’t as yet been released onto the market, but when it does it will have a recommended price of $122.99 – WoW do I feel special yet again!

So be sure to keep your eyes open for its up coming review. I can’t wait to try it out, hopefully it will perform far better than the last Remote Control Egg I reviewed.

Final Note

For all my fellow Aussie Sex Blogging co-horts unlike most companies that don’t work with reviewers that don’t live in the US, let alone all the way on the other side of the globe like us, California Exotics seem to love us and are more than willing to send products down under for their approved Sexperts to review.
