24K Gold Coated Ben Wa Balls
If you aren’t familiar with what Ben Wa Balls are you can take a look at this wikipedia article to find out more, but basically they are a tool for helping to strengthen your PC or pelvic floor muscles during your Kegel exercises as well as possibly giving you all kinds of pleasurable feelings as they wriggle and kiggle around inside your vagina whenever you wear ((by wear I mean walking around doing your daily activities with the ben wa balls inserted within your vagina)) them. Women used to wear them and sit in their rocking chairs causing them to really ‘Wriggle & Jiggle’ – They sure could make the morning train commute more fun for some!
So onto Reviewing this particular Pair of Golden Ben Wa Balls I’ve been sent to review from AdultSexToys.com
They arrived in a simple basic plastic packaging, the style of packaging designed to hang under a shelf. The 2 golden Balls come with a really nice black velvet storage pouch.
The Balls them selves are quite small at around 1.7cm wide ((sorry I couldn’t find a way to accurately measure their circumference)) the same size as an Australian 5cent piece and they have some weight about them, but I have no way to weigh them – bugger.
They are both solid & Identical, made from Chromium Steel coated with 24K Gold plating. The manufacturers claim that this 24k gold plating won’t chip crack or peel, I’ve dropped them, played marbles with them and done all I can to try to prove them wrong…but I can’t, they really don’t chip, crack or peel. They are also non porous and can be boiled to sterilise them without damaging the coating.
But...and this is a pretty huge BUT that’s where the positives end. Just like ‘Cockzilla‘ the teeny Tiny size of these Ben Wa Balls made me a little scared.
Other Ben Wa Ball style sex toys usually have a string or other design feature that keeps the balls attached to one another along with a string or other device that enables safe & easy removal. This pair of balls have neither. So they can possibly both go off in opposite directions with minds of their own rather than staying put, and they can decide to be difficult when you remove them, but as long as you only put them in your Vag they won’t migrate elsewhere – But if you have recently had a baby wait until you have had your post-natal check up and know your cervix has closed again, as if your cervix is open they could possibly migrate and cause you harm.
I have tried using them, but that trial didn’t last long. Each time I tightened my PC muscles I could feel my muscles pulling the balls slightly deeper. I got scared about just how deep they were going, realising they may try to turn into squatters and refuse to leave despite my wish to evict them. Admittedly I tend to panic easily though,
The first one was friendly and left without protest, but it’s friend was hoping to set up camp. I couldn’t push it out, it wasn’t moved by Gravity, and wouldn’t dislodge when I tried jumping up and down to get it out of there. Eventually my finger had to go fishing to find it and personally evict the squatter!
I swear getting my kid to leave the premises was less stress inducing than getting ball #2 to leave.
I own my Vagina and although it loves to have visitors it really doesn’t cope to well with those who try to move in, especially when they fail to pay the rent! No matter the size of the guest or the room they visit, if there isn’t a simple and easy way to remove them after their stay I choose to refuse them entry.
NEVER Ever consider using this set – or any other for Anal play, It simply is not safe, no matter what you read.
But – there’s yet another big But … they do make nice fancy marbles! – I do like to try and find some kind of positive in everything.
I can’t wait to try out the Fun Factory’s Smart Balls, they are pretty, they are quite a bit larger, they are attached to each other & come with the all important string for removal! They are #1 on my want to Review List.
EDIT July 11th 2010
My Much more Experienced and therefore Wiser Sex Toy Reviewing Comrades have pointed out in the comments below My great worry for your safety was greatly Un-Justified. Unlike your butt, your Vagina is nott a never ending tube, nothing can get lost never to appear again. So Some of the things I had said are now gone & I apologise for being so very harsh on these balls. My review has been edited somewhat, however the danger to post-partum women is very real, but considering my kid is 13 My personal fears were pretty much un founded.
I gave them a second chance last night, eviction was much easier, but still I would like them to be a little bigger and at least attached to each other, that way if I can reach the first one the second must follow.
Again though I am a woman who has given birth, although vagina’s are ingenious in there ability to bounce back to their original post baby size, the topography of mine changed greatly after giving birth. After further contemplation it is possibly the problem with removing ball #2 was as much my Vag’s fault as the balls. I’m sorry I was so mean to you little ball #2 🙁

You know, I don’t think these are unsafe. Unless you’ve had a hysterectomy, they will stay in your vagina and not.. migrate. They might not be easy to get out but I’ve used similar ben wa balls that were just so small, they couldn’t help but fall out. Even with larger ones, I’ve just popped a squat and pushed. Nothing that really concerns me, I guess.

You are quite possibly right, you have an awful lot more experience with all things sex toys than me, but they really did scare me – if they were at least attached I may feel more confident using them. I understand there isn’t a black hole in there, but really would hate to have to go see a DR to get one of them fished out, but every Vagina is as individual as its owner… So they may work perfect;y well & safely for others, but they aren’t for me.
Thanks for pointing that out though as they may be perfectly fine and safe for others to use.

it IS possibly that if you had enough suction going on, you might have to see a doctor. On the other hand, you might be able to ask a partner fish them out.. or perhaps wait around for a while for them to drop. They would be easier to retrieve if they were connected, though. You’re right on with that.

After your comment re: women who’ve had hysterectomies it got me thinking of the post partum issue, especially as It’s a time when you’re really focussed on getting those pelvic floor muscles working out. I did some research and the cervix can apparently stay up to 2cm dilated for longer than 6 weeks, but as you say without suction it is unlikely they would go to far. I’d just hate for someone to get hurt, I’d even hate for someone to dislike a toy after I said I’d like it. I’m such a worry wort at times.

Just letting you know though it’s annoying to have to fish around to remove them, using these vaginally they’re actually still technically safe, but perhaps just frustrating. Popping a finger in there to fish them out is still safe because there is nowhere in your vagina they could go that’s really dangerous, unlike when you insert toys anally that could slip away to deeper and darker places and really pose an issue. That doesn’t mean they’re an awesome toy (they sound bloody annoying and too small for my liking anyway) but if they did get ‘stuck’ for a while, they wouldn’t end up anywhere that would threaten your health. 🙂 Apologies if I interpreted what you said wrong and if you already know all this, but I had someone ask me about it the other day, so clearly some readers get confused.

I really appreciate your comments, they really are helpful and useful as just because they weren’t for me & I didnt feel safe with them doesn’t make them unsafe. I think I may just have to go back and edit the review to reflect such and clear any confusion as I am wrong in blanketly saying they are un-safe. I just totally freaked when one went deeper than my finger could go.
Thanks for the feedback and for pointing these things out guys, really appreciate it xxV
